That said, Harris exuded confidence and sure-footedness in the debate. Her answer to the first question of the evening was shaky, but she quickly found ground.

She successfully led Donald into rabbit holes that kept him from ever surfacing.

Harris's gestures to Trump and his MAGA following were effective -- her strident handshake coming on stage and later empathy for Trump supporters' boredom at his rallies.

Most significantly, Harris moved the LIKABILITY needle in her favor -- the crucial factor in winning a presidential race.

This success should provide her confidence to pack in Town Halls and attempt another interview.
