Cailian, what happens to Russia beyond the war will become an increasing concern, and thought has to be given to that now.

A poor, dysfunctional and isolated Russia is NOT in our interests (you, for one, would like to travel there).

We best maintain the distinction between Putin and Russians (which has too often slipped). The West must welcome Russians, particularly the Russian press, in their countries.

It was a mistake to make villains (which some clearly are) out of the oligarchs because they can be helpful in the restoration of Russia. The animosity to them was more driven by envy of their fancy yachts than anything else.

All great stuff, if not such a tragedy.
