Cailian, this is a major worry. The commitment to the very purpose of NATO I fear has wondered off into complacency, misunderstanding and indifference by too many Americans. It was, of course, especially undermined by the previous American president (which itself was a nudge in Putin's aggressive direction).

That America would defend one of the Baltic nations (or Romania) as it were our territory is something to be made crystal clear and agreed upon again now. No ambiguity. No, "we shall wait and see" or "well, it hasn't happened yet".
