Biden's debate implosion doesn't mean he steps down before his term ends. No one is pressing for that, but instead, he should bow out from the presidential race for the following four years.

There are blessings in Biden's disastrous debate performance. Democrats can renew themselves by finding a young, talented nominee to win the election and lead Americans into the future.

The immediate task is to get Biden to exit the race, as he will only with enormous pressure from all angles. Biden must NOT be given a respite -- and we don't want a world crisis to rescue him (as Israel's Oct 7 did Boris Johnson).

Yes, there are Whitmer and Newsom, but there are many other talented contenders to compete for the nomination (I can think of at least ten). The setting up of the competition should be the immediate focus and not a fixation on a particular star. We want an open process to find the best person.
