Brian, you're pretty accurate. It's economic mobility as much as inequality. When aspirations are increasingly unlikely to be achieved, folk can turn to despair and lash out. That's what feeds Trump and MAGA.

We must fix this without interfering with the engines delivering our prosperity. Unfortunately, many from left and right try to do precisely this. Trump's tariffs and Biden continuing them are examples that take $800 annually from household budgets. Resistance to increased automation and immigration costs all Americans.
