Bit of a U turn on Trump Caren. But I agree.

DeSantis? Yes, I think he will be the dark force. Would America vote for him? He has governed a very successful and popular state. That experience bodes well for him. But this is America, no one cares about experience apart from the wokes (Donald was elected with zero).

The downside I see with DeSantos, and it's a biggy. He is NOT LIKEABLE. OK, the Donald leftovers will vote for him and maybe, maybe, some independent suburban women find him attractive. Trump's buffoonery had a certainly likable quality and although it would be a real stretch to say that Donald had charm (like that slippery piglet the other side of the Atlantic), he does have character (can't believe I said that).

On the Democratic side.

Donald not running (because he has already made a considerable sacrifice for the American people that was under appreciated by many) is good for Democrats because it spurs them to do something other than wheel out Joe.

What happened to your favorite, Amy Klobuchar? I kind of disagree with you in that the Democrats don't have presidential talent in their camp. They do. Look at the contenders from last time. Many had the right stuff. Again the most qualified one in my judgement is Pete Buttigieg. Those that know him, like him. Fearsome intellect and brilliant speaker and communicator.

John Kasich would be a real competitor to Pete Buttiigieg. But that would be too sensible for Republicans.

Many thanks. Best.
