Bernie is a valuable guy. Great at shouting out the issues that desperately need addressing. Many of his solutions however are not the best as they would create more problems than they would solve. As an example he is an advocate for rent control in cities. An idea that has been put in practice and failed. It has been debunked in most studies.

Bernie Sanders is a great voice, but he did not win the election. Biden, who can well be described as a default president, won in part because of the success of Bernie and the demise of Elizabeth Warren in the nomination.

But that's bridge under the water.

Going forward to the 2024 presidential contest. If Democrats insist on a left of party candidate, they will lose. Democrats need to get more voter. They will NOT come from the left but will come from the middle including independents.
