Barry Gander, your articles are always worthy.

Your premise of swapping China for India needs questioning.

India has become a more attractive place for America to do business, but that can be in ADDITION to China and not instead.

China is experiencing difficulties, much because of the accumulation of power by Xi Jinping, but China is NOT DISSOLVING.

America needs China as it needs America. Building a wall between the two powers is currently fashionable thought but much to our detriment.

I invite you to read "America Is Hurt by Its Poor Relationship with China" Was Ukraine a casualty?

The Covid possible tragedy about to happen in Xi’s China is an opportunity for America to find common ground with China and NOT a time for America to be smug (or gleeful as some are). A massive Covid outbreak in China is also our concern.

Many thanks, and best of the season to you.
