B Kean, China getting on nerves must not become part of foreign policy -- which it had under Trump and continues with Biden.

In the big picture, the irritants don't matter.

Americans benefit enormously from China, and vice versa. Both countries need each other for prosperity and security. America can be the one to channel the relationship in the right direction.

Xi Jinping's one-man leadership is not working, but he remains, and we have to manage these circumstances the best we can.

Poor leadership in the U.S. has resulted in missed opportunities to better the relationship (to our advantage). Trump and Biden have adopted policies to keep China from rising above the U.S. This will NOT make America richer or safer.

I invite you to read "America Is Hurt by Its Poor Relationship with China."

In the case of the balloon, Antony Blinken should have kept his date with China, done the business pending, and (illustrated by the balloon incident) reinforced the vitalness of open communication channels.

Many thanks. Best.
