Anthony, that midweek drone of landscaping equipment in leafy American suburbia will soften.
The appeal of quiet or less noisy places will take hold --as it did with most IC autos. I had an elderly relative who owned an even older Bentley. Neighbors complained of their windows rattling as the magnificent car went by. Wilbur and Orville were confined to sign language, such was the din of their flying machine.
The celebration of tailpipes has waned. Most IC autos now have them integrated into the body and have almost disappeared. It reminds me of the last steam locomotives, where they tried to hide what they were with almost no smokestack.
Fashion and modernity can be a big helpers.
Excellent piece. Best.
