International security is not only about guns, ships, and walls. Primarily, it concerns connections and mutual interests.

Unfortunately, Trump and Biden have taken America on an isolationist path, making Americans less safe (and poorer).

The most striking example of a perceived security measure that falls short is the containment of China. The exclusion of Chinese-made EVs from both America and the EU has inadvertently pushed China into a closer alliance with Russia, a development that Nixon's groundbreaking trip to China fifty years ago aimed to avoid.
