Always well written and passionate Lauren Martinchek.

This battle was essentially lost when the Merrick Garland nomination was blocked. The current nomination is perfectly legal and the Republicans seem to have the votes to make it happen.

With that being the case it makes sense for the Democrats to focus on winning the White House and the Senate. Helpful here is not pots and pans at the hearing but rather a thorough questioning of the Nominee and displaying reassurance and competence. Chuck Schumer has been presenting the Democratic position well lately -- without shrill and keeping to the facts.

Democrats could try to get an agreement for the new justice to recuse herself from cases regarding the election outcomes.
