The West could connect more with Russians, particularly by supporting the work of Russian journalists outside Russia.

We must continue to differentiate between Putin and Russians. It was an earlier mistake to make the oligarchs into villains (although some are) because some will be helpful in the transformation to a NEW Russia, which the West again can benefit from.

There has been too little thinking ahead. America and the West congratulate themselves on their response to Putin's aggression, but it has been woefully inadequate and behind time.
