Income disparity is a serious concern and contributed to disasters such as Brexit and Donald Trump. That a few at the top make unimaginable money doesn't matter; it is not income gained at your or my expense. It's income immobility and loss of aspiration that is so damaging.
In America, transitioning to Value Added Tax and away from corporate and income tax could be an improvement. All businesses and corporations would pay taxes because, like consumers, they purchase stuff. A VAT is flat, but if in conjunction with a generous base income, that particular downside is minimized.
