Allison Gaines, these senators could never be relied upon to reform the filibuster. It is folly and distracting to demonize them. Democrats at no point could change this situation and barking up this tree is pointless and counterproductive because it takes up valuable time.

Essentially by pursuing voting rights and the filibuster, however valid, only chalks up failures for Republicans to be gleeful and Democrats despondent.

Let's get on to things that can be done.
