Alexander, yes, the world has become much more complicated and dangerous. Regional powers now have a global reach.
We will not rid ourselves of nuclear weapons; the best we can do is to have rules and agreements on their use.
A more stable world exists when the connections between nations are plentiful -- the big one is trade.
Many view globalization as a failure to prevent Russia and China from becoming more like America and the West. Although this may be true, globalization succeeded in this direction.
Unfortunately, we are building walls (Trump and accelerated by Biden) around the U.S. and other nations. This has the ILLUSION of security and prosperity but delivers neither. It's counterintuitive, but we need to multiply all our connections around the globe, not divide them. An example would be aggressively enrolling Russian and Chinese students in our schools.
Many thanks. Always excellent. Best.
