Alexander, I'm not sure spinelessness is the category for McConnell. He has been in a difficult political partnership with Trump in order to facilitate his own agenda -- his judges, which he got.

By both condemning the insurrection and not allowing an independent commission to investigate it, he tried to play it both ways. That was a miscalculation and opportunity to dispense with Trump that he possibly regrets (along with many of us).

There is a very long list of cowards in the Republican congress. McConnell perhaps not on it. But he has the weakness of never being concerned for the welfare of people in Kentucky, America (and the world). Absolutely no vision for their lives. Never interested in policy.
