Alexander, consistency and fairness are hard things to find.

Favoring Ukraine immigrants over those from say Central America is inconsistent, unfair and quite possibly racist. But these particular circumstances which allow some Ukrainians into the U.S. (to our benefit) can be helpful with modifying our general unwelcomeness of immigrants.

We pick and choose. And that's a reality. We should work to counter this but simultaneously avoid the choice between all or nothing where most of the time the result would be nothing.
