To counter deniers in the world may not have been the primary reason for Israel to show the atrocities against Israeli citizens.

The horrific images play to public outrage, anger, and revenge needed for a ground incursion into Gaza. Public displaying the footage at this time is arguably irresponsible. There was no pressing urgency to do this and excellent reasons not to.

Israel (and America) has to make rational decisions: Continuing to pummel Gaza and sending Israeli soldiers to ferret out Hamas from a maize of tunnels is not one of them.

Displaying the gruesome details of the massacre is EXACTLY what the leaders of Hamas and the regime in Iran wanted. The young men assailants were ordered to do their worst -- and they did. It provided the bloody bait for Israel to become embroiled in Gaza, leaving them diminished and exposed on many other fronts (Tom Friedman, NYT 10/25/2023).

Israel must halt the ground incursion. Biden should declare it unwise and that America WON'T condone or back such an action.
