Alan Miller, the public willingness may be more challenging than coming up with the technology -- which is no mean feat but from our history, seems doable.
Pioneering and exploring in an ambience of well being and less basic stress of survival, helps. Outlooks are longer term and more risk can be taken on. What I'm saying is that prosperity is key. If that suffers then so will our transition to green economies.
We have the war in Ukraine which looks upsetting to our climate plans but actually managed properly this tragedy can move climate forward. A matter of seeing and seizing the opportunities.
A huge concern in my mind is the growing distance between the U.S. and China. Not having a harmony (and this could be a healthy completion) could be expensive enough. But the two world giants being at odds with each other will invariably subtract prosperity (not to mention security) from both places which will greatly impact our climate efforts.
Many thanks. Excellent article.
