The connection between the family victims of 9/11 and assets of the Afghan government is beyond a stretch. Hopefully legal objections to this can and will prevail.

We have an obligation to get those people starving in Afghanistan fed and on with their lives. Whatever that takes. And, although Biden is not responsible for the whole Afghanistan tragedy, he is responsible for precipitating the tragedy now playing out.

If it takes recognition of the Taliban government to relieve the suffering of ordinary people, then that should be done.
