Netanyahu is not extreme right-wing but has engaged the extremes to enhance his power and protection from the courts.

He constantly plays upon the terrorist threat, whether from the West Bank, Gaza, or Iran. Netanyahu requires these enemies to survive.

Palestinians may improve their lot by abandoning the two-state solution (which is pretty much dead) and making their way up within Israel. Arab representation was beginning to happen but was interrupted by Netanyahu. Secular and middle-class Israelis could welcome Palestinian support against a growing threat from the orthodox Jews who contribute little to the country's prosperity, safety, and defense.
