Adebayo, millions of Brits (and others around the globe) enjoyed yesterday. And it was relatively inexpensive fun.

The big negative of the monarchy is that it's the antithesis of meritocracy. But that can be understood and managed, which, through the centuries, Britain has done a decent job of. The monarchy does not run the country but is a layer of oversight strengthening democracy.

On the plus side, contrary to some beliefs, the crown is a money winner, and casting it as draining UK coffers is false.

In contrast with America, the UK has the advantage of having the symbolic wing separate from the administrative. This is understood in Ireland, Germany, Austria, etc., where they have constitutional presidents (although, unlike the British Monarch, few could name them). American presidents trip over themselves, exercising their dual roles.

That Charles and Camilla are so old coming to the throne looked a little comical. There should be a rule for British monarchs to retire when eligible for a free bus pass.

Charles will do an excellent job as King. A little dull and not too bright. Perfect.

Many thanks. Always best to you.
