Adebayo,

Migration was linked to trade, skyrocketing the world economy, beginning in earnest with the Industrial Revolution. Generally, everyone has had living standards rise ever since.

As a child, famines occurred in India, China, and Africa. While poverty hasn't been eliminated, most can look forward to better lives like those in rich countries.

Migration and trade are the ingredients of a prosperous and secure world. Unfortunately, we are in an isolationist and protectionist phase, which hinders the uplifting of living standards.

Do New Zealand Maoris wish to return to pre-European settler days? Likely not.

Best.
