The "Friend of Medium" triples the membership fee to increase much-needed revenues. Writers will see larger payouts, but it's their own money. Well-read writers will receive more from the bigger pie.

It's a con. Medium must be getting desperate.

Writers are the big problem. They overwhelmingly DON'T treat their readers as customers. They have yet to get it through their boneheads that readers are more important than them.
