Adebayo,

When Prime Minister Tony Blair's wife became pregnant, his staff were taken back -- he's still having sex? -- and with his wife?

Sex and the British fell into difficulties with the industrial revolution where everything moved to plan, geometrical drawings, pistons, wheels and cogs. Anything not easily measured and quantified, such as sex (and anything emotional or organic), were either dropped or hidden.

The Brits gained a duality that exits in many parts of their lives, although it has waned in past decades likely because of increased travel and immigration.

The mentality was transplanted to New England in America -- but without the humor.

Many thanks. Best.
