Adebayo Adeniran, although Thatcher was a eurosceptic she saw value in the EU and was not for withdrawing from it. Boris Johnson, Domonic Cummings and Nigel Farage on the other hand were a different kettle of fish.
You're right though that Brexit is a self inflicted wound that the British (and others) will have to deal with for some time.
Johnson's fantasy that Britain becomes a Singapore or (old) Hong Kong is just that -- a fantasy. The best course of action is for the UK to get back into a good trading relationship with the EU. But unfortunately it will take time for this pragmatism to take hold.
Johnson should certainly go. He is the wrong man to manage the country through the Brexit deal that is still not over let alone lead the country to more prosperous times. It can be remembered that Johnson was almost a default choice for PM because the alternative of Jerome Corbyn was so totally unacceptable.
Many thanks.
