A wall was never a great answer to immigration but while we have no legistlation allowing much needed new people into the country then a weight of determined souls is going to be at the southern border. I can't see a barrier not being there but it can be more technological and man powered rather than concrete and steel .

One possible way to get immigration working is to have more decisions made at a local instead of Federal level. Where individual communities and towns can decide their own needs of people to fill empty work places, shops and towns -- to look after aging Mom perhaps.
